  1. Just a quick observation...because of it's proximity to your site, the "backyard" space referred to at 65 11th avenue, in one of your slides, does not show up in your other 'context' or 'circulation' maps as a park...just curious, is that piece of land zoned industrial (like the pier) or is it privately held, and just plated as a 'park'? Could make for some interesting interactions either way...but knowing always helps!
For clarity, were the pier and building structure both designed/built at the same time, by the same architect/company. A bit more context of the building would be most useful to determine possibilities of adaptive re-use, restructuring or replacement.

  2. Seeing that you want to reuse an existing industrial facility, you might want to look at the University of Art and Design in Karlsruhe, Germany, which did this.
Also, I liked your approach to flood protection. I recall having seen creative approaches on how the high edge in a harbour can be treated, by allowing for some water.

  3. I like your work so far, and progression up to and including the demographics. Since you are showing slides with neighborhood history, you and your group might consider indicating them and calling them out on your neighborhood context slide as to how they connect to your project site.

  4. This research is a great start. Now synthesize it into something meaningful for your personal project agenda and building typology. THis will differ for each member of the group moving forward.
